Martial arts at Team Ascension has never been about kicking and punching exclusively, although our world champion athletes prove that our training works for those looking to compete at the highest levels. For us, all that kicking and punching is the game we plan to elevate our mindset so we can overcome the hard parts in life and reach our goals.

At our school, we teach a 'gold or nothing' mindset.  That doesn't mean we aren't very, very proud of work that doesn't reach gold.  We most certainly are because every day you are working you are closer to your goal! Rather, it means that we are always seeking to do our very best in whatever we are doing.  Maybe we are trying to master a difficult karate form or maybe we are trying to get an A in a math class we think is tough. The mindset is the same for both--you kick and punch as hard as you can until the job is done.  We are fighters!

In our opinion, every person should have an opportunity to be in a martial arts program...it changes lives. It lifts up hearts. And, it gives people the strength to reach their dreams.  This sport teaches you how to eliminate your doubts about yourself. It changes your mind about what you think is possible.  And the positivity is catchy, making whomever comes with you experience the same kind of positive attitude!  By the time you reach black belt, with a new mindset, you will not just be strong of body, but strong of spirit.

Can you imagine an entire city of people thinking positively and fulfilling their own dreams, using their talents every day to the best of their ability?  We can.  And that's why we opened our gym.
